Beginners Domestic Cooking Course
(2011 - run monthly throughout the year - please see the below timetable)
- This course is for the domestic who does very little or no cooking during their working hours.
- They are taught all the basics as well as kitchen hygiene and etiquette.
- The course is in English so the student must be able to read and speak English.
- The Classes are hands on and not a demonstration and we recommend that they practice what they learned at work to test the test their new skills with their families and employers.
- The budding chefs finish their courses and are so excited about their new knowledge of cooking.
- We prepare a variety of different dishes which are easy to prepare, such as:
- Delicious macaroni and cheese and bolognaise sauce.
- Then we make a lasagne.
- Basic baking – muffins, cupcakes, seed loaf, pizza and puddings
- Soups.
- Lovely Salads
- Stews, curries or roasts.
- Delicious desserts
- The full course is 4 weeks for R1, 250 which includes a recipe folder, ingredients, apron (for use during the course), certificate.
- A minimum of 4 per group
- If the course is not full it will be postponed to another date.
- Classes are held in Mouille Point

Children's Cooking Lessons and birthday parties
- The classes are suitable for girls and boys aged 5-11 and include practical cookery.
- The children are provided with all the ingredients and utensils.
- I teach children to cook ' real ' food using their favorite recipes and only fresh and free range ingredients.
- They are encouraged to prepare the food on their own.
- It gives them mathematic skills by learning to measure and weigh the ingredients.
- Fun is the key ingredient.
- Parties are a minimum of 10 children and up to 30 children.
- Cost is from R55 a head.
- From 18 – 80 years old
- Newlyweds, or couples, busy parents who are looking for healthy but fast meals to prepare for their families, children and parent lessons (for fussy eaters) and teenagers leaving home or going to university wanting to learn everyday basic meals.
- These courses depend on the season and can be tailor-made and offered in your own homes.
R250 per hour - minimum of 3 hours for two people
- Adult classes run from 9am – 12pm.
- Groups are kept small.
- The classes are not demonstrations, but hands-on cooking. We aim to have lots of fun.
- Please note the type of dishes you would like to cover during your private lesson. I will email you a shopping list.
- After the lesson I am happy to help with setting the table and to leave before your guests arrive.
- We usually prepare meals up to 8 people, so you can freeze some for later.
- Private lessons are offered in your own homes to teach housewife's or husbands or housekeepers, nannies or au pairs to cook to your specific diets including sugar free, dairy free, gluten free, fat free or kosher meals.
- A great idea if you are having guests for a dinner party or want meals prepared to fill your freezer.
- R250 per hour including recipe folder.
- I love shopping so it's not a problem for a small fee.
